Ngozi Akinro


Akinro is an associate professor of Mass communication at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas.

She holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Media Arts from Southern Illinois University and an MBA in General business and management. Akinro teaches Broadcast journalism, Research, Speech, and Conflict management. She is also the student media adviser.

Akinro is a researcher at heart. She has years of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research. She has published several research articles, book chapters and book reviews. Her research interests are in the areas of user perceptions, crisis management, visual representations, social media, gender and race relations. She has published in journals such as International Communication Research Journal, The International Communication Gazette, Visual Communication Quarterly and Newspaper Research Journal.
